This issue of old sewer lines - even public lines -
Looked into the possibility of homeowners insurance for sewer lines needing repair or replacement. Homes in Fairfield Farms are at least 50/60 yrs. old. I received from State Farm. Yes, they do cover these issues. My quoted cost to add to my policy is $66/yr. with a deductible of $500. Well worth it to me. info provided by Gail Light
There is a new scam going around "The Seller Impersonation scam that started in the Spring of 2023. Several Kent County properties are being put up for sale by people who do not own them, according to Kent County Realtors Association and Troop 3. See the PDF below and learn how we can protect ourselves.
Update on the vacant house at 104 South Fairfield Drive as of 8-7-2023. The County sent someone out to inspect the house. They stated that the outside of the building was in such a state that they were going to condemn the house and add it to the demo list. Unfortunately, they only have funding to do two houses per year, so it could take a while. On 9-2023, we learned, that they were not going to condemn the house, instead, they were going to board it up and replace some of the siding. We have one of our neighbors to thank for keeping on top of this !
